Find Out a Person's Grade at a Particular Date

Hi,

I've been fiddling around with SQL but getting nowhere quick due to a number of factors. I'd like to keep it to SQL as my OTBI related permissions aren't 100%

So basically, at any particular time, how would I find out what a person's grade was?
