End-dating team members on an Award

It is my understanding that when a person leaves a project they can be end-dated. I have an accountant that left a department. We end-dated that person and added the new accountant. The issue is the original accountant still has access/can view her old department's research projects/awards.

I did test deleting the original accountant and that stopped her from see individuals awards. However, it was my understanding that we could end-date so we could keep the history.

Thoughts?
