How to get the date formant in RTF Template

need to bring date formant in rtf template. if i take sysdate i am able to see the data whereas parameter date is not showing in rtf template.Content

need to bring date formant in rtf template. if i take sysdate i am able to see the data whereas parameter date is not showing in rtf template.
can anyone let me know how i need to get the data. what ever user selected in parameter that date should show in :P_DATE_ON field.
