Smartlist Issue on Period Dimension

I’ve been trying to work through setting up a data map that uses a smartlist on the period dimension and ran into an issue. The purpose of this is to map different account structures in the Financials Module to our Report Cube. However upon setup it appears the evaluation order are account then period so the period mapping using a smartlist doesn't work. The reason is the member is evaluating to a currency member instead of a smart list. I've opened an SR on this but wanted to share in case others have faced a similar issue.
