Summary

Following best practise advice on performance settings makes aggregation worse!?

Content

Hi,

I am trying to optimise the performance settings on a test environment for a BSO Database.

As the thing that routinely takes longest I use an aggregation script, running it a number of times until I get a consistent timing - 5 min 35 seconds.

I then follow best practise advice straight from the manual to reorder the dimensions for the database in question; -

Optimize performance by ordering dimensions according to these guidelines:

  • Make Period and Account dense.

  • Order dense dimensions from the most to least dense. The most dense is usually Period, followed by Account.
