Data map performance degrades when used with a form

Seeing a situation where performance degrades or times out when using a data map associated with a form. If we run the data map alone it is very fast. We have multiple data maps, one is the entire outline, it goes quick. If we associate with a form, the form context seems to slow it down. We've actually created a data map to match the intersections of the form context and straight up the map runs in 5 seconds, but on the form it can take multiple minutes. Has anyone else experienced this?
