Approval Workflow Using a Custom Manager Type

Hello Experts,

I am looking for advice on why my configuration is not working for an approval rule with a custom manager type:

  • I created a user defined manager type in PER_SUPERVISOR_TYPE
  • The new manager type "Secondary Manager", shows up in the assignment page and I am able to assign it as a manager type
  • When configuring the approval rule using Management Hierarchy, Secondary Manager is displayed as an option for "Route Using"
  • I ran the Refresh Manager Hierarchy process
  • The approval rule condition is (1==1) and the rest of the management hierarchy is set up to use the approval chain of worker, and go to the manager and the second level manager. (The rule works when Route using is set to Line Manager).
