Can Supply Planning take into account the expiration dates of Items?

We have business case requirement where the items being planned have expiration dates. 
The goods have a short shelf life of days and its expiration date are taken as a factor in the planning. 
Case like. On hand goods will be available only on certain period and will be not be part of the available supply once expired.
