What is the best way to manage updates to OOB rules and member formulas

Content

We are going to update the transfers to consider existing custom properties and total YTD salaries for the employee when calculating benefits and taxes.

What is the best way to manage those custom updates when changes are made through the patch process.

We want to understand how the updates are delivered when there is a customization involved.
