Archive Item batch

My requirements:-

PDM has data feeds every day. Data is loaded to PDM through Item Batches. So there might be half a dozen PDM batches getting created every day. ICS orchestrate the entire flow and it leaves the batch as active without purging the data and deleting it since PDM batches might have failed records and customer have to check it regularly to fix the failed records and re-import. But this way, the number of Item Batches will grow significantly and hence the size of the staging table. I am looking for information to define a process for archiving the Item batches
