Display Number as Number in Excel output of BI publisher report

I have a report which displays employee ids as part of the report. Now when I export that excel output it shows as Number stored as text and it comes with that yellow warning in the cell with employee ids. I want to display employee number as a number in excel output of Report. I tried using to_number before employee ids in data model but it makes the report field as Double and long and still keeps storing that field as  TEXT. Is there any way to make this field store as number on the excel output.
