Compensatory bank balances and expiry dates

We are using the compensatory banks to store banked hours that have expiry dates. The administrator cannot see these balances at all on the Person management - manage absence cases. They have to drill into each compensatory bank.
I did a quick check in OTBI and couldn't see any fields related to compensatory expiry dates. How have you handled the need to manage and follow-up on hours that expire ? Workflow ? Reports ?
