Summary

Question on Commit Block

Content

I have two Essbase servers with identical properties. Now I added the same application across these three servers. Now when I run an aggregation on this app on the servers I get:

Server1:

Commit Blocks Interval was adjusted to be [7488] blocks

Total Calc Elapsed Time for [Agg.csc] : [2640.42] seconds

Server2:

Commit Blocks Interval was adjusted to be [6606] blocks

Total Calc Elapsed Time for [Agg.csc] : [5127.37] seconds

I understand that the block size is too small and Essbase is adjusting to try and delay the commits. What I find confusing is why is that two servers will have two different adjustments. If I were to look at optimising my application which will be the more apt value to consider?

Howdy, Stranger!
