Summary

DBCS Standby in IaaS

Content

Hi All

As you might be aware, we have an option to choose "standby" option during DBCS instance provisioning

This would automate the creation of standby database for the DBCS instance, both the primary and the standby are created on DBCS

However, this would take up additional credits/cost on our cloud account

To be a little cost-effective, we can have this standby created on IaaS instead of DBCS

Below are the high-level steps which can be followed

1. Create a single-instance database instance using DBCS (without standby)

2. Create an IaaS compute VM for Standby

Howdy, Stranger!
