why do we need to run calculate accruals and  balance program every month (Assuming accrual period is calendar month).

System is not blocking employee to apply leaves future dated as well as past dated even if calculate accruals and  balance is not run.System is allowing employee to take absence considering projected balance before the leave start date.

We also use cloud payroll, what will be the impact if we do not run the calculate accruals and  balance program
