What's the correct process to reuse a user name?

Please let us know what is the correct process to reuse user names so transaction history is updated appropriately. (R13/19B)

We've attempted to update/reuse user names following the below process, but the transaction history does not reflect the new user name.

  • Employee 1 (terminated; disabled user account):  user name '1'; 
  • Employee 2 (active; enabled user account):  user name '2
    • we need to change his user name to '1'

Before he was terminated, Employee 1 made a transaction in Fusion.  The Edit History button has user name '1' tied to that transaction.
