Myth: OTBI doesn't allow me to access different data to HCM Cloud

Occasionally you need to allow a user to report on more or less data than they have access to in the UI.  You can achieve this by creating two custom roles:

  • One for the UI application pages which has one data security privilege with no access to OTBI
  • One for OTBI with a different data security privilege that only has access to OTBI
