Report to view status of every individual

Hi,

I have a need to list every person in the organisation and whether they are active or not. I can look at assignments but obviously someone could have multiple assignments, maybe a dozen

How would I bring a list of everyone back and say whether they are active or not based off the current/latest assignment.
