Parent Child Relationship

Can we create a parent child relation in a single model.

Hi All,

        Can we create a parent child relationship in a single model. for ex. there is a single model in line item grid under the same model we have to add one more child model and under child model some more child items. Currently we have achieved this functionality in a non standard way like we have created 1 attribute called Immediate_PTO_Parent which is getting populated with parent model.

I like to know if there is any standard way to achieve this functionality.
