Cannot encrypt File Transfer Utility password

Is there still no way to encrypt the password when using the File Transfer Utility? I opened an ER for this in March, 2018. I have to hard code the password in plain text in my scripts. Does anyone know if there are plans to ever allow us to encrypt the password?
