A new piece of UK government legislation is being introduced, effective April 1st , regarding rights to leave and pay for Bereaved Parents.
An overview on some of the details are;
"The Act amends the Employment Rights Act 1996 to provide all colleagues with a right from the first day of employment to two weeks leave if they lose a child under the age of 18, or if they suffer a stillbirth from 24 weeks of pregnancy.
The Act applies to bereaved parents & primary carers including Adopters, Foster Parents, and Guardians as well as relatives who have assumed parental responsibilities in the absent a parent.
