Issues with collection strategy timing and transactions delinquency status

Transactions may become overdue over time while a strategy is still assigned to a customer. It may be the case, that the customer pays the older overdue transactions but a new transactions become delinquent.

If the strategy is in its final steps, for example, send final dunning letter, the transaction that has just become overdue gets picked up by the dunning letter, while this transaction was never mentioned in previous steps. 

Is there a way to avoid this in an automatic way?
