Re-Hire Employee Issue

Looking for a solution for rehired employees

We have Taleo Learn.  We also have a course inside of Learn that is required to be signed at the start of each term of employment for all employees including rehires.  Once the rehire is brought back into the Learn system, we would like for the course to be reset to incomplete while still holding it's history.  I have been told that the only way to do this is to manually bulk load my rehires courses back to an incomplete status, but that loses the history.  Does anyone else have this issue?  Or have a solution?  We have rehires coming
