If I retire/dispose of an asset do I lose historical reporting oracle fusion?

A data conversion contractor is insisting that if an asset is disposed or retried in Fusion Assets, then it no longer presents in any historical reporting (pre-defined reports). For example, asset # 101 retired in 2019 would no longer present on a 'Cost Summary Report' or a 'Form 4562 - Depreciation and Amortization Report' when running for 2016, 2017, or 2018. I find this extremely hard to believe. Can anyone advise on this?
