I'm working with an ASO cube in version 11.1.2.4.  I'm loading data from two separate sources (forecast months from one source and actual months from another), and need to correct my beginning balance periods based on the data I'm loading.   

I originally thought I'd make beginning balance a formula (prior year beg bal + prior year months) but it was suggested to me on this board that an allocation would be a better approach because it would store the correct amounts rather than relying on a dynamic calc, which would be slower on retrieval.  This seems to be good advice, so I've been working on that approach.
