Allow absence duration override

Need to override absence duration with any number of hours

Absence type "Annual Leave Cash Out". Need to enter absence for 1 day but override absence duration with any number of hours to be paid out. At the same time it should reduce the absence balance. Please advise how to override the absence duration calculated by the system referencing either the work schedule or defaults to 8 hours/day.
