Redeployment of a new version of a Process Application

Hello Forum,

I wanted to check what are the alternatives for redeploying a new version of a process application from a Development to a Production instance.

The Export and Import functionality work perfectly for the initial deployment of a Process Application to a Production Instance. But what needs to be done if a new version with changes need to be deployed?

The Import functionality doesn't allow you to load the same application with the same name. Do we need to create a new Process Application every time? Do we need to delete the existing Process Application, but then what happens with the active deployments and running instances?
