Seniority calc for Part-timers

Hi,

We have the following requirement to calculated Seniority in Grade:

1. For Full-time employees, it is a straight forward calculation - days in Grade

2. For Non-Union part-timers, it is based on hours worked converted as 7.5 hours = 1 day

3. For Union part-timers, it is based on days worked, irrespective of hours worked in a day.

Disregarding all other variables and considering only the above criteria, I understand that the application just uses FTE value in the assignment to calculate Seniority for Part-timers.

Is Fast-formula the only way to approach these rules?

Also, since the FF is used to adjust Seniority dates, how frequently should we be running the Seniority Date calc process to ensure that the latest Seniority date is available in transaction pages? Or does it create an adjustment every time a transaction is processed to display the latest seniority?
