How to add Duty covering employee to the absence recording form?

Hi all,

We have a requirement in absence management like below.

  1. when an employee records an Absence, He/she should mention the employee who covers his/her duties during that absence period. Also once the employee submits that absence request to approval automatically another notification should go to that particular employee. 

is it possible to do this in the Oracle Absence management module? so far I have added a Descriptive flex field to the absence recording form and added the employee list. but still, I cannot trigger a notification to that employee. please be kind to share your valuable ideas.
