Shared Entities not got promoted within alternative hierarchy

Dear Experts,

I've created a separate approval unit hierarchy for an alternate hierarchy and tested the promotion process. It seems the  child entities(which is shared from the primary hierarchy under Total Geography) will not be promoted and still be writable when I promote its parent within the alternate hierarchy ... I just want to confirm whether this an expected behavior? or did I miss any extra setup?
