Why Period dimension with Dynamic Calc storage property has edit mode in the form ?

Hello All,

I am new to EPBCS and wanted to understand the concepts from scratch. I have seen in my form ( Grid ), my 'Period' dimension has been set as 'Dynamic Calc' storage property but the cells are in editable mode.

Under my period dimension, i have child members like Qtr1, Qtr2,..

May i know for what purpose it holds editable mode ?
