Outgoing mail from non RightNow mailbox

Does anyone know if there is a way to get emails to send via an external mailbox. So in this scenario there are google hosted mailboxes which are connected to via pop to retrieve emails. When an agent responds the emails go 'out' via that mailbox - which actually entails using the reply to address for that mailbox but actually via the rightnowtech.com mail servers. Is there a way to have the mail actually go out via the google mailbox via SMTP? I don't see that it can be since there is only configuration for a pop incoming server domain but
