Direct Data integration new functionality and how it differentiates with Data Management (DM)

Hi All,

I'm curious to know what is direct data integration and how it is being differentiated with data management. From Planning admin guide, I came to know that, it is like data management and will continue to be enhanced until 100 percent parity with DM. further doc says, we will have both the functionalities DM and direct integration in EPM system and DM will not be replaced by Direct data integration.

If so,

1. what is the purpose of having the new functionality direct integration in the system?

2. What are the additional benefits of having direct data integration over data management?
