Periodic versus YTD

We understood FCCS works always with periodic movement tables and translation. Will it be possible to switch this to year to date as well for opening balance, means in each month of the year December previous year is the opening balance. We are asking this since not a single client in our client base is using periodic opening balances. Some are using periodic translation for flow accounts but never the whole table in periodic. The system should be flexible to welcome both ways. Means pure YTD which 90% of our clients are doing and opening balance YTD with translation of
