Approval chain selection (top down vs bottom up)

Hello!

We have a scenario that is quite hard to explain so have made the image below to try and explain the scenario. The workflow is built with the following rules:

  • Approver 1: Approval required from direct line manager
  • Approver 2: Approval required from Grade B within the submitting workers hierarchy

The query is around the scenario when there are more than 1 Grade B line managers in the hierarchy.

The workflow seems to select the Grade B line manager at the hierarchy point in the approval hierarchy - we would like it to be the other way round and select the lowest point in the hierarchy (as it is unlikely the higher Grade B in the hierarchy will have the information to make an informed decision on approving/declining the request).

Howdy, Stranger!
