Cannot select multiple dates for Volunteering Project

Multiple dates cannot be selected for organizing the Volunteering Project

The Client requirement is to organize a volunteering event that will last for 5 days. But the system takes only 1 date, i.e., on selecting the Start Date, the End Date by default is taken as the same day of the start date. Also no option comes up to change the end date or select multiple dates to stretch the event for more than one day. 

Please let me know whether it is a bug or some other procedure has to be followed for resolving the issue. Right now, we are only able to configure the Volunteering Project for 1 Day and not multiple days.
