Populate Primary Sales person in Sales order header from Customer master DFF

We have a requirement when customer information is entered on sales order, then sales person should automatically default on order header> Primary Salesperson field from a customer account Bill to Level DFF. This DFF stores the sales person.  (We had to open a DFF for sales person as there is no standard field on customer for storing sales person)

In Extensions, can customer level DFF be leveraged to default that run time on sales order?
