TraceId attach at API Gateway as a policy

Description

Having a policy that could look for whether an API invocation has been given a Trace Id and either map an existing payload value into a recognized TraceId attribute. Or generate a traceId (RFC4122 would be a good spec). The close to the edge we can track something the better. Also consider support for open tracing

 

Event better would be for the id to be generated in the client side as a result of something automatically mapped in by VBCS

Use Case and Business Need

OIC provides a traceId mechanism, we have the open tracing standard. But ideally you to be able to track an event through logs from the moment it gets to your backend if not before and follow it through the network, in and out of things like Streams, OIC, OKE etc.
