Can you populate a text based account via a calculation script?

The ask is to have an automatic "audit" of any change to a specifc upper level account that occurs due to a data load. I have some ideas on how to track these changes, but the 2nd part of the problem is automatically filling out a change log.

Is there a way for a calc script to populate text values to an account?

 

We've explored groovy a little but hit a few walls.
