We are working on creating BI Reports (SaaS BIP) and use bursting and scheduling to send the notifications to the recipients.

These are scheduled to run on periodic basis.

In a scenario where in FUSION or BIP is down for some time, there will be some notifications/alerts that gets skipped as the schedules are in the down time. 

These are periodic notifications/alerts which are scheduled to run and the criteria (data model sql) is based on date. (for example, retrieve all the records which match a criteria  in the past 1 day or past 6 hours or past 1 hour).
