Adding a deeplink to Custom Alerts

 When the Learning Specialist enrolls learners in self-paced learning, we want to send an alert message to the learner, with the link to the class embedded in the message. I am not sure which variable to use and I cannot get the link to work. See screen shot.

If I use this, the entire long web url is displayed:

If I use either of these, the url is not found, a web page opens will null:
