One/Same ship unit across multiple order releases

Business Use Case

We are implementing oracle products (Oracle Retail, OTM, WMS) for a retail giant. In WMS and Store Inventory Management, to achieve operations ease and reduce logistics cost, business user packs multiple orders in one single box. Here, the business does not builds pallet as the movement comprises of Store to Store Movement, Store to DC movement etc. Hence, boxes in turn becomes the transportation Handling Units and are mapped as a Ship Unit in OTM.

Challenges

In OTM, one box/ship unit can only be linked to one order release. (One order release can have multiple ship units but one ship unit cannot have multiple order releases).
