We would like to repurpose these fields, but are hesitant on changing them in case they affect benefits, payroll or something we don't know about.  We would like Preferred Name to ALWAYS be Preferred First Mame, and Previous Last Name to be Preferred Last Name.  We would also like to customize the pages they are on to reflect this.  We know Preferred Name displays in searches and directory and that is ok.

Will this type of change affect anything?  We don't want to do this if it will inadvertently change something we didn't intend on.
