Manager Listing by Employee with Multiple Managers

edited Aug 25, 2020 10:25PM in Human Capital Management 2 comments

Summary

Recent changes limit manager results to "Line Manager" only, or entire hierarchy down to the employee. Users need a simple solution... Here is a workaround.

Content

When reporting on employees with multiple managers, i.e. Line Manager and Clinical Manager, the base "Worker" category will only provide results for the seeded "Line Manager".  With the upgrade of 20c the "Matrix Manager" subject area provides the entire management hierarchy for an employee.  When the desired results need to be limited to one person, the "Employee",  a workaround is required to filter the results.

I have attached XML code using "Workforce Management - Worker Assignment Real Time" to list all managers for en employee at a single level.  This limits the output above and below an employee's results to just the employee's respective managers.  The filtering we used was based on the "Matrix Manager"."Level 01 Manager Person Number".  By leveraging this value we were able to match up the "Worker"."Person Number" and cull out the undesired results.

Howdy, Stranger!
