Copy ownership to next year locked data

Summary

Is ownership copy based on opening balance rules?

Content

Hi,

for the first time we are using the FC08 Scenario, for the year 2020. To be able to use (and lock) this, we have to lock all prior years. For some reason 2018 Jan is impacted (it should be empty and therefore not impacted). When I want to consolidate FC08 Jan 2018 (which seems to me the only way forward), I get the message:

Ownership data changed in the last period of the prior year. Please copy ownership form the last period of the prior year: Actual 2017 Dec.

I assume ownership is based on the opening balance settings as FC08 should get their opening balance from Actuals last year. However, if I would copy ownership from Actuals 2017 Dec, it will copy to all Scenarios, including Actuals. This would mean that Actuals 2018 Jan ownership would also be impacted. And then I have to calculate 2018 ownership again and  possibly make changes as I assume copying the ownership from 2017 Dec to Actuals 2018 Jan will overwrite the current ownership in Act 2018 Jan which might be different. Will this issue remain limited to ownership data only or

Howdy, Stranger!
