Looking to have clarity on the drop-down list of values available for the Veteran Status

Content

Looking to have clarity on the drop-down list of values available for the Veteran Status. Possible values we see are:

A) Declines to Self Identify
Not a Protected Veteran
C) Protected Veteran
D) Blank

The question is about a scenario where an employee is a just a veteran and does not qualify to be a protected veteran based on employee's military service. In this scenario, is there a choice to pick from the list of values?  How do you handle it for your organization?
