Would like to understand what settings/configurations control the View (Assignments vs. Positions) Dropdown on My Teams

For some reason, the View (Position vs. Assignment) Drop Down is not on the My Team view.  (Please see screen shot attached).  I would be interested to better understand what settings / configurations are controlling whether this appears (or not).
