Tuning a rolling 12 Months turnover report
Summary
How to performance tune a trend based report when using Ago and Rolling PeriodContent
Hello Experts!
In my ongoing saga of working with the trends subject area to build a turnover report I've hit the next stumbling block. I've successfully created a rolling period turnover calculation but the report takes 7 minutes to run which isn't acceptable.
Our turnover Metric is calculated by taking the sum of terminated headcount for the past 12 months and dividing by the average between the period open headcount from 12 months ago and the period end headcount from this month. From my testing, the calculations are working as expected but the analysis takes too long to run. I'm already using a subquery as recommended by Raghu in a previous post but I'm not sure if there's more tuning I can do.
