Absence in calendar days, entitlement in calendar days and months?

Hi experts,
Wondering whether there's anyone with a similar requirement as ours and how they solved it.
Requirement is as follows:
when an employee is sick, the 1st 30 calendar days are fully covered (all working days in this period are fully paid by the employer). After these 30 calendar days, a period of 6 months is paid at 50%, but only if the employee has been in service for at least 1 year (Sickness type will be in calendar days)
As entitlement duration for a plan in calendar days will always be expressed in calendar days (as far as I know) and as eligibility for the 30 calendar days period is different from the 6-month period, I think we need 2 plans to cover these.
