Saving comments when an absence is deleted

Hi Experts,

We have certain types of absences which are added through HDL and we allow employees to "Delete" this record and this goes for LM approval. However the employee must enter a comment before clicking delete. 

Once an employee enters the comment and clicks delete the comment is not saved in the database. Is there any way that will allow me to save the comment and let the employee withdraw this absence
